Signing a Standing Order mandate really helps the DOS as we can automatically receive your subscriptions from the next due date and thereafter. If you wish to leave us then all you will need to do is contact your bank and cancel the mandate



You must be over 18 to join the DOS as an individual member and the subscription rate is currently £17pa renewable on 1 January each year - if you join on or after 1 September you will gain all the benefits of membership until the end of the following year except the Derbyshire Bird Report published in the year in which you joined

After we have received your payment and processed your application we will send you a Membership Card and Starter Pack

Your DOS Bulletin will be sent by email – if you have difficulties with this please let our Membership Secretary know

Payment

If you select online payment, note that you do not need a PayPal account to pay by Debit or Credit Card, we use their system to recive your payment

After submitting your online payment you will receive an email from the PayPal system to confirm that your have paid the Derbyshire Ornithological Society £17 and the payee will show on your bank statement/online banking as "PayPal"

Important

there should be no other emails sent to you. If you receive any suspicious emails e.g. asking you to click on a link, delete them immediately.

GDPR

By applying for membership you are confirming that you consent to the DOS holding and processing the personal data you have given, to send you the DOS publications and to keep you informed about news, events and the activities of the DOS. On receipt of your completed form the contact details you have given will be entered onto the the DOS secure database. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by contacting the Membership Secretary.

Please note there are certain essential membership management issues (for example problems with payment of subscriptions, renewal reminders, etc) to which GDPR does not apply, it being concerned with unsolicited marketing communications, and regarding which we may need to contact members. This will normally be from the the DOS Membership Secretary and by email, as this is the most efficient and economical means of communication for the DOS. You can also unsubscribe from the the DOS Newsletter or the the DOS Annual Bird Report at any time by informing the Membership Secretary by email or post that you wish to do so.
